I don't think I look that great in headbands, but I just had to try this one. Check out Itmakesyousmile on Ravelry. She has good directions and some examples. I used my Brother 970 standard with ribber, but you could design your own==stockinette, tuck, fairisle, slip, etc. I just didn't want to bother with a seam up the back.
Here's the skinny on the one I made:
(I made the smaller one, but next will make the larger.)
It knits up really fast and a little longer to twist and seam. But, not too bad. (That's a scan. Looks much nicer in person, of course.) If you have trouble with the twist, there are videos on Youtube.

Looks nice, Mar. I like the ribbed effect. Will have to give them a try...when I get some mojo back.
It would be a good one to get your mojo back because it goes so fast. Still can't figure out why my machine doesn't like 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 rib... It will knit it, but makes a sound and is not as smooth as 1 x 1.
just a thought. was having trouble with my 260 tryin to do half fishermans rib. Ribber happy goin from right to left, but not back left to right.
Check that the ribber, especially on the left side is adjusted properly and not loose. Mine was making a grinding sound. When I tightened up it got much better.
