I'm really having a good time with my felting projects. Am righteously using up yarn in the process too. Here are some incredibly cute and warm mitts. I've done the pattern in both adult and child sizes. I had some Lion Brand Fun Fur left over from my Ted Bears and wanted to use it up. I know fun fur is kind of passé but how can you resist furry mittens? Easy to make, warm as toast. Knit with one strand of wool and one strand of fun fur, knit flat on two needles or on the midgauge knitting machine. I've done up the pattern for both methods.
When you felt the mittens, the wool shrinks and felts but the fun fur doesn’t and gets much more dense. These mitts are incredibly soft, both on the outside and inside. They’re warm because of the wool and also because the fur traps air on the inside. Make them plain or with stripes. Perhaps you have small amounts of fun fur to use up from days of yore. ;-) Knit the mitt and then the cuff is accomplished with simple crochet stitches. They’re very cute and functional at the same time. If you wish to purchase the pattern, click the buy now button to use Pay Pal. I'm offering the pattern for $5.00. I will send you the pattern as soon as I receive notification of payment. Please also email me and let me know if you'd like the hand knit or the machine knit version. Thanks!
